Drew's Research

A portrait of Andrew by a chalkboard.
A rather artsy portrait Ella took. I'm doing homework in Grinnell's "Math Lab."

Projects

Axiomatization of Probabilistic Automata with Angelic Nondeterminism
Visualization of p-continuous functions

Final paper for Senior Seminar on p-adic numbers. I created a two-plane plot visualization for p-continuous functions. I demonstrated the pedagogical value of this plot by exploring the Morita Gamma function Γp.

Active Learning materials for Lie Algebra Representations
Final project for course on representation theory for finite groups. I created active learning course materials (worksheets, quiz, a homework problem) exploring representations of matrix Lie groups and their corresponding Lie algebras. While neither matrix Lie groups nor Lie algebras are finite, many finitary results extend naturally.
Notes on Mathematical Structure of Syntactic Merge
Enumeration of Transfer Systems on Arborescences

Researched under Professor Christy Hazel on enumeration of "transfer systems," a combinatorial object relevant in G-equivariant homotopy theory. I produced a novel recurrence for a certain class of transfer systems. I presented a poster at JMM 2026. Paper is in preprint.
